Race Reports

Fitchburg and Nationals by Mike O

The Report, short and sweet,

Back on a plane, then back into a car, Rockstar right, maybe.

I feel like I have been in a bar fight, without the hangover.

Nicole got stuck in Cincinnati last night, and what was left of our crew, found a place in Manchester to have a beer or Strawberry margarita before a long day of travel today, I wish I was home.

Oh, did I mention I have been racing since a week ago Saturday, with only one day rest, not really, Travis and I rode about 50 miles on our rest day Tuesday.  I have been in 5-7 cities, give or take, rode somewhere around  500 miles, give or take 100, ate college food, and slept on a plastic mattress.  Who knew?

Outcome:  A Stars and stripe jersey, an 11th place on the GC (thanks to the rules, I still cannot crack the top 10), a couple of bucks (a couple of bills), an excel spreadsheet figuring out anything from bills to cash payout, fun with the juniors, the German’s laugh stuck in my head, and sore leg.  I wouldn’t trade it.

Thank you to everyone, now it is time to get home and get some rest before Elite nationals.  Have a great week and maybe just maybe, me and my bikes will make it home.
